Why does kali have her tongue out?

Kali is uncontrollable first energy of the universe. Impossible to understand fully hence she is depicted in black color as it is a secret.

In Durga Sapthshati ,we only are told of praise of Devi . Shiva doesn't come to battle field in that book. Hence we must learn all kulas where a version of truth is told. If you refer to Shaiv agam there it is mentioned how Shiva himself had to come down to stop Devi from discharging n destroying the world as she finished destroying all rakthbheeja. This stops Devi the Rakth kali form not all kali form. She sticks her tongue out.

But all forms of Kali mahavidya , Mahakalia have been represented by her tongue out. It’s actually kechari mudra that is symbolized here which is the source of Amrit tattva and immortality.

Worshipping her will erase your paap (sins) and punya( merits Good karma) and you will be situated in the state where you need neither and you are showered by the Amrit or elixir of immortality. And immortality is the symbol of being a Siddha in the state of siddhatva.
