After hearing that his 2 famous generals have died, King Shumba got angrier. He ordered the rest of the army to go into the battle. Strong generals like Kalak (the thoughts born of Calamity), Dauharda (thoughts born of perplexed hearts) , Maurya (recurring thoughts) , Kalakeya (fears of the unknown) gear up along with 86 Plunderers of Peace soldiers holding weapons and 84 thoughts Without Restraint soldiers march at their command.

At the same time, seeing the whole battalion descend into the battle, 7 matrikas as shakti descend. Along with Chamunda, Chandi - as Durga. As they stood face to face in the battle. Shiva - the all-pervading consciousness and great Siddha blesses the army of Devi's as- "May all of you vanquish all these negative thoughts and qualities soon for my satisfaction". This fueled their resolution even more and upon hearing this Chamduna's ugra form -more scary form is born. She then tells Shiva- the consciousness to inform the Asuras "If you want to live, then return to the lower worlds. Let the Devas [good qualities] Rule, But if in the arrogance of your strength you are desirous of battle, then come. My manifestations (jackals) will satiate themselves on your flesh." since Chamunda sends Shiva's energy- consciousness to warn them she is known as Shiva Duti. After hearing the consciousness, they pay no heed to it and begin their attack first on Katyayani Devi.

The Battle begins

Chamunda Devi decimates every asura in her path, those who disturb some Matrika's too. But the 7 Matrikas along with Chamunda Devi destroy every single one of the Asuras in the battle. Seeing this The very great strong Asura Rakthabheeja [the Seed of Desire] got angry and unleashed himself on the battle.

When a drop of blood from his body touched the ground another great desire equally strong would be born in that very place. The more the Rakthbheeja waged a war against the Matrika- the more rakthbeeja clones emerged like cellular mitosis equally strong and mighty. Thus, Rakthbheeja- seeds of desire encompassed the entire universe. This discouraged the Devas and demoralized the army. Chandi- Durga seeing the disheartened Devas called onto Ugra Chamunda - "widen your mouth further and as I strike the Rakthabheeja [desire] clones you consume every drop of the blood that emanates from his death.

Thus Chandi struck individual Rakthbheeja clones[Seeds of desire] and Chamunda consumed their body and drank every drop of his blood. Thus Chandika - Durga struck him with every weapon and Chamunda drank every drop of his blood until there was none of Raktabheejas-[seeds of desire] left on the universe. She even ate the Rakthbheejas that were formed as her drinking his blood on her tongue.

The Matrikas and Devas rejoiced in his death. And Hence Chamunda was also known as Rakth Kali.

Summary:

Our mind is never quiet or still to achieve the state of Samadhi state or any yog because we can’t there is chaos in our mind . One thought after another emerges , one memory , one story one desire keeps disturbing our mind that is far from the tranquil nature of chetana . Hence that chaos and train of thought , desire and endless merry - go - round ( carousel) of thoughts can be stopped by Rakt kali devi . She stops and halts it and it is a violent act at that . Devi becomes insatiable and uncontrollable in this act .

So to calm your mind for a better meditative state worship Devi Kali and do her sadhana

Gratitude to Ishaputra for bestowing this knowledge and inspiring me to read and research on Durga Sapthshati.

Is Mangalasutra symbol of oppression?

Recently I saw an Instagram post on Manfalsutra where a self loathing Hindu was telling his wife she doesn’t need to wear mangalasutra as it’s unfair only woman has to show she’s married. Yeah that’s
