Bhairav or Bhakt

Many people have asked me this question is a bhairav only meant for fighting . What is a bhairav? Is he supposed to be of an angry disposition? Few vehemently oppose being labeled as a bhairav and only want to be hailed as a Bhakt to that I have only one thing to say .

Only a Bhairav is a true bhakt . If you claim to love someone ( Deity Isht or Human Guru ) to that extent that your love turns into devotion and is the statute to your faith and existence You cannot betray or backstab that person. That is not the virtue of love . Love is sacrifice and complete submission to your isht / Guru .

In that state of devotion or love a person endures pain so that the person they love does not bear any pain . Courage is the fuel of love or in other words love gives you courage. Anger is then the expression of one's despair . Only a person who has great faith or shraddha in their guru , isht or even in their lover fights for them . Only a true lover can be fighter for if you don't fight for the one you love then is it love at all?! .

A fighter here is a bhairav for he loves his Guru / Isht beyond what a mere Bhakt can by dancing and singing. if someone says a word against your guru or your Isht and you smile and say "Haribol " that is cowardice for a true bhairav will demonstrate the consequence of disrespecting their loved one.

That is the reason of Hanuman being hailed as the greatest bhakt , because he was trained to be a fierce vajra bhairav only to fight for his Isht / friend Bhagwan Ram . His love for Bhagwan Ram fueled his fight for Dharm. He endured all the pain so that Bhagwan Ram could uphold the principles he was born to instill. To endure pain, to walk on the path of Dharm is also Task of the courageous, only a Bhairav can walk on the path of Dharm as it is not easy . The road of Dharm is not convenient, it is trying but only a courageous person can walk it, can sacrifice his comforts for the sake of his isht / Guru or loved ones. That is the nature of a bhairav - a true Bhakt .
