I began with a curious anticipation regarding the short film. This documentary takes you to another world where one goes into the root of the Deva culture. How ancient India’s very existence was steeped in “adhyatma” or just reverence towards a higher power.
With a foreboding narration regarding the times we are in today; It delves further into the psychological root of disease which is FEAR! The current state of Covid -19 Pandemic along with black fungus, white fungus etc plaguing our minds and society, the famous dialogue from Sholay movie Jo Darr Gaya samjho Mar gaya is apt. Fear of losing one’s loved ones and one’s own life creates a negating effect in our body where one’s immunity is lowered and so is one’s will power to survive. The documentary showcases Bhairav and Mahayogis enlightening us about the ritual of Dhumra kritya and Dhumra Siddhas.
Systemic rituals and peculiar practices to become fearless is inculcated in chosen Dhumra Siddhas and one focuses on transcendental realization of the self. The god’s or Devas act as a conduit to amass the essence of fearlessness in a person. They envelope them by protecting them from their own negativity and fear. Towards the end one realizes All of these practices are futile without the Mahasiddha’s compassion. After choosing these dhumra siddhas, he conducts these rituals for the welfare of the society and the people in these desperate situation.
I would definitely encourage everyone to watch this documentary as it is a rare window into a long lost spiritual Siddha culture of ancient India and an inspiration to conquer and face our fears
